Applying nail polish
How to apply a French manicure
1. Apply a Nail Tip Guide just below the natural smile
line of your nail. Apply your choice of Tip Duo’s two
shades of white. Let dry, then remove Nail Tip Guide.
2. Apply a coat of French Manicure. Let dry.
3. Apply a top wear gloss coat to add protection and
long-lasting colour.
Tips:
• Decide where to place the guide strips based on the
length of your nails. In general, the longer the nail, the
longer the white tip should be. Make sure that the arch
of the guide is smooth and rounded and that the tip
lengths are all relatively consistent.
• Make sure not to get any white polish on the body of
the nail under the guide.
• Give yourself time to practice. It may take a while to
get the hang of applying the tip guides.

Step 2: Applying nail polish
How to apply colour nail polish
1. When applying colour, start by applying a base coat.
Place the brush on the middle of the nail and pull
towards the tip leaving little space at the base of the
nail. Then paint two bands on either side. You should
paint each nail in three strokes. Let it dry
completely before applying the second coat using
the same technique. This will let the first coat form a
better bond to the nails as well as to the second coat
of polish.
2. To finish your look and to make the manicure last
longer, apply a single layer of the top wear gloss coat.
A top coat will give added protection and ensure your
nail colour will last longer without chipping.
3. Moisturise your hands with a cream when nail polish is
completely dry.
Tips:
• For the perfect look, there is nothing better than
having your nail polish match the rest of your make-up.
Such as the colour of your lipstick for instance.
• Before application, make sure your elbow is not moving
to avoid trembling when applying the nail polish.
• If you’re in a hurry when applying nail polish, use a light
or sheer shade that is less likely to reveal mistakes. Use
thin layers of color; lots of thin layers are less likely to
chip or flake than thick layers.
If you’re struggling to achieve the perfect French
Manicure, color the nail tip. This is much easier than
polish and lasts just as long!
• If you wear nail polish on a regular basis, take them off
for a day or two every week, in order to let your nails
breath. To extend the life of your manicure, apply a
coat of clear polish every other day
